News release: Sexual Assault Arrest Fenmoor Place & West Cheyenne Road

On Sunday, February 23, 2020, at approximately 8:21 A.M. the Colorado Springs Police Department's (CSPD) Communications Center received a report of a kidnapping in the area of Fenmoor Place and West Cheyenne Road. When officers arrived on the scene, the victim stated they were walking in the area of 1900 South Nevada Avenue when an unknown male suspect driving a vehicle contacted them. The suspect asked the victim for directions and then offered the victim a ride to their place of business. Given inclement weather conditions, the victim accepted the offer for the ride. After the victim entered the vehicle, the suspect drove away at a high rate of speed, produced an edged weapon, and threatened to harm the victim. The suspect sexually assaulted the victim inside the vehicle shortly thereafter. When the assault paused for a few moments, the victim took that opportunity to try and exit the moving vehicle. The suspect attempted to restrain the victim, but the victim was able to exit the moving vehicle near Fenmoor Place and West Cheyenne Road. The suspect fled in the vehicle eastbound on West Cheyenne Road.

Witnesses in the area observed the victim escape the vehicle, provided immediate aid to the victim and contacted 911. Detectives assigned to the Special Victims Section Domestic Violence/Adult Sexual Assault Unit were notified during the early stages of the investigation and responded to assume responsibility for the follow-up investigation.

On Monday, February 24, 2020, detectives positively identified the suspect and located the suspect’s vehicle. Detectives secured an arrest warrant for the suspect, 32-year-old Kenneth Glad. Glad was contacted at his place of employment and arrested without an incident. Glad was booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on the charges of Kidnapping, Sexual Assault, and Menacing.

While an arrest has been made, this is still an active and ongoing criminal investigation. Community members are asked to contact the CSPD if they believe they witnessed any part of this occurrence, or if they have information related to this ongoing criminal investigation. A photo of the suspect is attached to this press release and will be posted on CSPD’s Twitter page.
