SUSPICIOUS DEATH

On Thursday, August 27, 2020, about 10:39 a.m., the Pueblo Police Department was notified of a dead body located along the Fountain Creek. While checking the welfare of a person in the homeless camps, citizens located a dead body that had been buried in a shallow grave.

Pueblo police secured the scene and are processing the scene for evidence. The identity of the victim will be released by the Pueblo County Coroner’s Office pending identification and notification of next of kin. Detectives have interviewed several people and are following several leads in the case. This is a possible homicide investigation.
