Look at Colorado's up and coming generation of farmers and ranchers at the Reimagined Colorado State Fair. There are many traditions on pause in 2020 but one that went forward was the Junior Livestock Auction at the Colorado State Fair.

Since 1869, the Colorado State Fair has celebrated the best of our Colorado's farmers and ranchers. In 1869, it was a horseshow that drew in the crowd. In 1917-1918, the exposition was canceled over a flu pandemic.

In 2020, The Junior Livestock Auction is still about hard work, dedication, love and pride. The fundraising helps the 4-H and Future Famers of America continue strong, but every summer, the auction, like so much in Pueblo, is a focal point of Colorado's heritage. It harkens back to those early days on the Western plains when hard work and love of family was all you had to survive.

Oh, the Grand Champion was Doris, raised by Ema Richardson, a Yuma High School senior, with a going-going-gone price of a sweet $50,000.
