The City of Fountain Public Works Department has received notification from construction crews that Link Road in Fountain will need to be closed entirely beginning Saturday morning, April 13th at 8:00 AM through Sunday evening, April 14th till 12:00 AM, in order to complete a 4 foot grade change to the road as part of a project to completely rebuild this important transportation artery in the city. The road will be closed between the intersection of Link Road and Squirrel Creek Road and Link Road and Marksheffel Road. The closure is necessary to ensure the safety of motorists and construction crews, and has been determined to be the quickest way to complete this needed grade change work. A detour route will be posted, along with sign boards indicating the closure and alternate routes. Motorists are reminded to be aware of all signs, flaggers and other signals related to this project, and to please be slow and cautious around road construction areas.
The project to rebuild Link Road is part of a broader city effort to improve overall transportation infrastructure in a growing City of Fountain, and has been designated as a priority by the Fountain City Council over the next three years. Link Road serves as an important North/South corridor on the east side of the community.
For more information or questions about this closure please contact: Rosa McCormick, City Public Works, rosa@fountaincolorado.org, or 719-322-2019.
