At 3:20 a.m., officers responded to a S. Prairie Ave. convenience store on report of an armed robbery. Two males, described by the clerk as Hispanic & in their late teens to early 20’s, entered the store & one pulled a pistol, with which he struck the clerk in the head. That male wore dark clothes & had a blue sweatshirt wrapped around his head. The other male had a gray “ECKO” hoodie & a blue mask. If you have any information on these two, please call the PPD at 553-2502.

********************UPDATE*******************

The suspects are in custody! At about 4:20 a.m., Ofc. Jon Vicars was in the area of 4th & Troy when he saw males pushing a pickup that was the suspect vehicle from a strong armed robbery at the Val-U-Stay that Ofc. Bryan Gonzales handled earlier in the shift. Other officers responded & they took the males into custody. Three are juveniles & one is a 19-year-old. One of the juveniles already has a no-bond warrant for burglary.

The pickup will be towed & a search warrant for it will be written. Parents are being notified & the suspects are being taken to the PMJC. Two of the juveniles are believed to be the convenience store robbery suspects. Great job by all of the officers involved!
