Saturday update: Idaho Department of Health and Welfare reports 577 new cases today, and one new death, for a total of 10,505 known cases and 102 deaths. Once again, that's a record for new cases reported in a single day.
Canyon County reported 233 new cases and one death to the state today. Ada County reported 185 cases, and Kootenai reported 48.
Previously, only a handful of rural Idaho counties had infection rates of more than 1,000 per 100,000 residents. That's about to change. Twin Falls, Canyon, and Ada are all approaching that mark.
IDHW reports 78 ICU beds are currently available statewide. As of Thursday, Central District Health had 21 vacant ICU beds.
Idaho made the front page of the New York Times today, on a graph showing the states with the highest percent change in daily cases on a seven day rolling average. Idaho tops that list, at 1,491 percent.
