From Aug. 9 to Aug. 17, Buena Vista’s self-response rate to the 2020 Census went from 54.8% to 55.1%.

Poncha Springs went from 52.1% to 53.1%.

Salida’s current rate is at 64.8%, slightly up from 64.5% on the 9th.

If households of Poncha Springs keep up this pace, there’s a good chance the town will win next week’s town competition!

From Sunday, Aug. 23 to Monday, Aug. 31, households (in these three towns) that have yet to respond to the 2020 Census are challenged to respond online at my2020census.gov.

The town that achieves the largest increase in its self-response rate to the census within this time frame will be awarded three $100 gift cards to local grocery stores.

The town administrator will then have a drawing from the submitted names/confirmation pages of those (residing in the winning town) who completed their form online during the competition.
