Sheriff's Office Makes Arrest in Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft Cases

On August 17, 2020, a sergeant was conducting follow-up on a Motor Vehicle Theft/Burglary case in the 2700 block Golden Currant View when he came across a stolen Ford Taurus.

A lieutenant responded on scene as back-up when they both observed a male who matched the suspect description related to the case. They waited until the suspect approached the car and opened door. Prior to him getting into the vehicle he was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect, Adam Alexander (DOB: 5/27/80) is a convicted felon with felony warrants and was in possession of a semi-automatic handgun, ammunition, and methamphetamines at the time of his arrest. He had the key fob to the stolen Ford in his pocket as well as a key fob to another confirmed stolen Honda in his pocket as well. After further investigation, the stolen 2017 Honda Civic was recovered.

Alexander was booked into the El Paso County Jail for his outstanding warrants as well as new charges of:
Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft (2 counts),
Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender,
Misdemeanor Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance,
