The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is Accepting Applications for the Fall Virtual Citizens Academy: https://bit.ly/2Q1GCmF

Our upcoming Fall Virtual Citizens Academy is a series of classes designed to give community members a peek into the inner workings of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. A diverse selection of topics is covered in an effort to give attendees an idea of what, why, and how law enforcement operate.

Each topic is taught by Sheriff’s Office sworn staff or civilian staff members, each an expert in their field.

These classes have been going strong for over 20 years and are provided at least once annually.

Our goal, which has been proven, is to build great partnerships between El Paso County and Colorado Springs residents with the EPSO staff who serve and protect them through a series of classes.

The Citizens' Academy will begin on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 and will be held virtually on Tuesday evenings, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The Academy will be conducted over a 10 week period, culminating in a virtual graduation ceremony on Tuesday, November 17, 2020.

There is no charge to attend the Citizens' Academy; however, seating is limited. After a background check clearance, attendees will be provided an invitation letter with a link to a virtual application download. The app must be downloaded on either mobile device, computer, or both. Attendees must be able to navigate the app to include all technical functions involved, we will not be able to assist with technical difficulties as these classes are live.

Those interested can print the application, complete it and either take a pic or scan it over to our Volunteer Coordinator Laurie Thomas at LaurieThomas@elpasoco.com APPLICATION: https://bit.ly/2Q1GCmF or you can drop off at our office located at 27 East Vermijo Avenue.

Applications must be returned no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, September 11, 2020.
