The State of Colorado has seen quite a few changes to laws regarding Marijuana and its recreational use in recent years. Here is an overview of the laws as they stand today:

To use or possess recreational Marijuana, you must be at least 21 years old

You may possess up to 6 plants and up to 1 ounce of finished Marijuana

The maximum plants allowed on a single residential property is 12 (regardless of how many people live there)

Your plants must be fully enclosed, including a roof (cannot grow outdoors)

Your plants must be in a locked area

You may not drive under the influence of Marijuana (to include medical)

You may not have an open container of Marijuana in your vehicle

In general, you may not openly display or consume marijuana in public (there may be exceptions to some businesses, see HB1230)

Have a medical Marijuana card? In that case, you are limited to possessing a total of 12 plants and 3 ounces of finished product.

Please don’t drive under the influence of any controlled substance. Thank you, Fremont County!
